Kaprekar numerology: the prediction of fascinating numbers!
November 30, 2008

| Some of the fascinating discoveries by the Indian mathematician D.R. Kaprekar (1905-1986):
In 1949 Kaprekar presented one of his most fascinating discoveries: the Kaprekar constant, or the number: 6174 This number 6174 is reached, starting with any 4-digit number (not all the same), in the limit as one repeatedly subtracts the highest and lowest numbers that can be constructed. AN EXAMPLE: Thus, starting with 1234, we have: 4321 – 1234 = 3087, then 8730 – 0378 = 8352, and 8532 – 2358 = 6174 …!!! The fascinating aspect of a ‘Kaprekar number’ is the interesting property that if it is squared, then two equal parts of this square also add up to the original number. SOME EXAMPLES: 9^2 = 81 … 8+1 = 9 45^2 = 2025 … 20+25 = 45 55^2 = 3025 … 30+25 = 55 99^2 = 9801 … 98+01 = 99 703^2 = 494209 … 494+209 = 703 999^2 = 998001 … 998+001 = 999 MORE INDIAN NUMEROLOGY REPORTS: |

NUMEROLOGY – WEBSTER BASIC DEFINITION:
Numerology – Noun
1. The study of the supposed occult influence of numbers on human affairs.
NUMEROLOGY – WEBSTER SPECIALITY DEFINITION:
Numerology is an arcane study of the purported mystical relationship between numbers and the character or action of physical objects and living things.

Chinese numerology, I Ching & the ‘Lo Shu Grid’!

Chinese numerology is based on various mystical traditions, including the I-Ching. The common premise regarding the numbers is that certain numbers are associated with ‘good’ or ‘bad’. The key-element that makes a ‘good number’ or ‘bad number’ is the punning and word play possible in this many-tone chinese language. Chinese numerology is often combined with Feng Shui. A famous tale is that the first of the five mythical emperors of China, Wu of Hsai, was working on the banks of the Yellow River trying to find a method to prevent the floods. |
|
It was during the course of this work that Wu found a tortoise shell, which at the time was considered to be a very good omen. This shell, however, was extremely rare, unique and special because it had fascinating markings on it: a magic 3×3 square. This square later became known as the ‘Lo Shu Grid’. The ‘Lo Shu Grid’ is particularly remarkable because every row, column and diagonal on the grid add up to the number ’15′. |

THE HISTORY OF NUMEROLOGY:
Numerology might be one of the world’s oldest forms of metaphysical communication and interpretation, however the historical details are unclear. For example, there is no definite answer as to where the origins of numerology first originated.
Egypt and Babylon are often mentioned by modern numerologists as the earliest recorded history of numerology, though there is little written evidence. Some other evidence suggests that numerology was used thousands of years ago in China, Japan, Greece and the old Rome.

Another cloudy matter concerns the role of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras. Some numerologists believe that the work of Pythagoras provides a back-up for modern numerology. For, Pythagoras indeed believed – and in certain examples proved – that things could be measured and predicted in cycles. However, one should notice here that numerology is longer considered as a branch part of mathematics – as a matter of fact, most modern scientists would characterize numerology as pseudomathematics. This parallels the historical for that modern astronomy is no longer related to astrology, and modern is no longer related to alchemy.
Though sometimes presented as facts, certain details in the history of numerology remain cloudy.

Key-elements in Pythagorean Numerology!
October 25, 2008

Key-elements in Pythagorean Numerology:
The science of Pythagorean Numerology includes e.g. 5 primary numbers. Two numbers can be derived from your birthday; the other three numbers are related to your name:
* Life Path Number:
Your ‘Life Path Number’ is the sum of the birth date. This number represents who you are at birth and the native traits that you will carry with you through life. The most important number that will be discussed here is your Life Path number. The Life Path describes the nature of this journey through life.
* Soul Urge Number:
Your ‘Soul Urge Number’ or as it is sometimes called, the heart’s desire, is an important core influence in numerology. However, the Soul Urge falls well below the Lifepath (the birth date number) and Destiny (the full birth name) numbers in importance, because this is a number that you don’t expose overtly to those around you.
* Personality Number:
Your ‘Personality Number’ describes how you have shaped your self-expression so that you can survive and thrive in society. Sometimes this number is interpreted as being the mask that you wear in public. Many people are surprised to discover that their personality number varies greatly from the “real you” that is expressed by Life Path, Destiny and Soul numbers.
* Expression Number:
Your ‘Expression Number’ The Expression number is derived from your full name at birth, meaning your first, middle (if you have one), and last names. Typically, it is the name that appears on your birth certificate. Occasionally, there are questions about exactly what name is used. A few examples, and how to decide which name to use, are listed below. These examples also apply to the Heart’s Desire and Personality numbers.
* Birth Day Number:
Your ‘Birth Day Number’ Your Birth Day number is simply the day of your birth. This number is not reduced. The day you were born bears great significance in understanding who you are and where your talents lie. The day of birth indicates some special talent you possess. It is a gift to you that will help you along your Life’s Path.
About Chaldea & Chaldean Numerology!
October 21, 2008

The basics of Chaldean Numerology:
Chaldean Numerology is considered as the second most popular numerology system in the world – after Pythagorean Numerology. By the way, Chaldean numerology is rooted in Ancient Babylon (Iraq) and can therefore be considered as perhaps the oldest system of numerology. In Chaldean Numerology a Kabbalistic name interpretation is combined with certain aspects of astrology. Of great importance is the fact that in Chaldean Numerology no alphabet letter is assigned to the number nine (see the Chaldean Numerology table above). The reason why the number 9 is omitted in this numerology system is that the early Chaldeans considered the ’9′ as a holy number, a sacred number.
Chaldean Numerology is much more complex than Pythagorean Numerology. For in the Chaldean Numerology system, it is simply not enough to know what the “single” numbers mean. One must also know what the what the “double” numbers mean. In Chaldean Numerology the “single” number simply represents the physcal outward appearance of a person’s name. And the “double” number represents the deeper, metaphysical, hidden influences or forces behind the name.
Chaldean Numerology is likely a much more spiritual method of numerology. Many numerologists refer to it as the ‘Mystical Numerology’ system rather than Chaldean Numerology. Although it is the least popular system, many modern day numerologists are convinced that Chaldean numerology is the most accurate system there is. This opinion is based on the belief that Chaldean numerology has been proven to be consistent, accurate, and efficient for thousands of years, for people all over the world.
In the system of Chaldean numerology your date of birth is very important, especially the day of the month you were born. For example, if you were born on October 21th, your number would be 21. Your birth number is extremely important in Chaldean numerology because, unlike your name, it is an important constant in your numerological chart.

Is Pythagoras the ‘father’ of Pythagorean Numerology?
October 21, 2008

The basics of Pythagorean Numerology:
Pythagorean Numerology (a.k.a. ‘Western Numerology’) is considered as the most popular AND most used numerology system in the world. One important reason for the popularity of Pythagorean Numerology is that the principles of this system are quite easy to be learned: the numerological table above shows how to translate letters into numbers according the system of Pythagorean Numerology.
The roots of Pythagorean Numerology are usually related to the work of the Greek mathematician Pythagoras, who was born in 580 B.C. – NOTICE: Pythagoras has acquired global fame for his solution on the hypotenuse of a right triangle (the so-called: ‘Pythagorean theorem’):
A2 + B2 = C2

Unfortunately, very little of Pythagoras’ teachings have survived, other than a story told by one of his students, named: Philolaus. After Pythagoras’ death, Philolaus claimed that not far before his death Pythagoras developed a certain system of numbers. This is how Philolaus proclaimed Pythagoras as the “Father” of Western Numerology.
And nowadays some people still accept this declaration as valid since there has never been any evidence to disprove this claim. Fact is, that Pythagoras and his students believed that everything was related to mathematics, and they felt that everything could be predicted and measured in rhythmic cycles. However, one should notice here that sceptics have pointed out that there is also no hard evidence at all that Pythagoras would have supported the basic principles of the (modern) Pythagorean Numerology!

SYSTEMS IN NUMEROLOGY:
Today there are 2 popular systems of Numerology in use: Chaldean Numerology and Pythagorean Numerology.
In Chaldean Numerology the numerological value of letters are founded on the sequence of the Western alphabet, however this system uses a numerological formula based on calculating from: ’1′ to ’8′; the number ’9′ is considered in Chaldean numerology as a ‘holy number’, and is therefore not included. Many numerology experts consider the Chaldean numerology as the most accurate system, however it is far less easy to be used – compared to the most popular numerology system in the Western world: Pythagorean Numerology.
In Pythagorean Numerology (often described as the ‘Western numerology system’) the numerological value follows the sequence of the Western alphabet, however this system uses a number formula based on calculating from: ’1′ to ’9′.
Other systems which are still in use (though far less popular) are: Kabbalah Numerology, Abracadabra Numerology, Chinese Numerology & Japanese Numerology.
