Kaprekar numerology: the prediction of fascinating numbers!
November 30, 2008

| Some of the fascinating discoveries by the Indian mathematician D.R. Kaprekar (1905-1986):
In 1949 Kaprekar presented one of his most fascinating discoveries: the Kaprekar constant, or the number: 6174 This number 6174 is reached, starting with any 4-digit number (not all the same), in the limit as one repeatedly subtracts the highest and lowest numbers that can be constructed. AN EXAMPLE: Thus, starting with 1234, we have: 4321 – 1234 = 3087, then 8730 – 0378 = 8352, and 8532 – 2358 = 6174 …!!! The fascinating aspect of a ‘Kaprekar number’ is the interesting property that if it is squared, then two equal parts of this square also add up to the original number. SOME EXAMPLES: 9^2 = 81 … 8+1 = 9 45^2 = 2025 … 20+25 = 45 55^2 = 3025 … 30+25 = 55 99^2 = 9801 … 98+01 = 99 703^2 = 494209 … 494+209 = 703 999^2 = 998001 … 998+001 = 999 MORE INDIAN NUMEROLOGY REPORTS: |
